A Thoughtful Gift Guide

Gift-giving is the love language in our family. While this time of year can be stressful for some people, for us, it’s the most exciting! Searching for the perfect gift for our loved ones brings us so much joy and we always make sure it’s something we would be happy to receive. While we all have so much stuff in our houses, we don’t think there’s anything worse than receiving a gift that you don’t know what to do with. That is why this gift guide is everything we would love to get.

Holidays are also a good time to gift something that your friends or family wouldn’t usually buy or you can get them an upgrade of something they already have, like a bottle of their favorite champagne or a set of coup glasses.

We’ll share some of our favorite brands but since the two of us live on two different continents, we want to inspire you more than to tell you what to get. We hope you enjoy them! Please note, we don’t receive money for what appears on the list. They are just things we like!

Stationery

Nothing beats receiving a hand-written note, especially when it’s written on nice paper. Smythson makes nice ones and if you want to go a step further, how about you add a fountain pen? Lamy is known for its quality and design and it ships all around the world.

Memberships & Subscriptions

If you know their favorite museum, magazine or local theatre, a yearly membership subscription is a great idea. Subscriptions to publications like The Paris Review, Monocle or Konfekt are especially great. This type of gift will ensure that your friends are the most informed and well-rounded in the group.

Cocktail Glasses

Adriana’s glasses are always a conversation starter at her dinner parties and she enjoys gifting them to all of her friends. The gift feels special and useful. There are so many fun options like these ones for your minimalist friend or these ones for a friend who loves color.

Personalized GiftS

Everyone appreciates receiving a personilized gift, knowing that someone put a little extra effort into selecting something special for them. This year, Ralph Lauren has introduced an entire collection dedicated to personilized gifts. If you're aiming to stay under $100, this hat would be an excellent choice. If you're in search of a bag, both Cuyana Leather Bags  and the Classic LL Bean Tote would be great options too.

All Things Coffee

For all the coffee drinkers out there, HAY offers beautifully designed coffee pots, French presses and travel cups that would make for a wonderful gift. For all Italian culture lovers, Bialetti is an excellent choice for a moka pot. If you prefer to support local businesses, then find out their favorite coffee shop and purchase coffee beans, along with a nice mug and perhaps a gift card.

Travel Size Painting Set

Sometimes, the best gift you can give is the gift of supporting someone's hobby. A travel-size painting set is a fantastic gift for painting enthusiasts and travellers. This set allows them to capture their surroundings through paintings instead of a more traditional photo.

We hope you find this gift guide thoughtful and not overwhelming. We wish you stressless and fun holidays! They’ll soon be over, after all.
