Where to get a good cup of coffee in Belgrade

Coffee shops have always played a significant role in the social lives of many people. It's where we meet up with friends, get some work done on our laptops, do a bit of writing or reading, or simply observe the world around us. There's a special kind of relaxation that comes with a good cup of coffee and the ambiance of a coffee shop. As someone who's often first in line when a new coffee shop opens, I'd like to share some of my favorite spots in Belgrade with you.

Hotel Beograd

Location: Balkanska 48

I'm sure many of you are already familiar with this place, but if you're not, this is definitely a spot you should check out. They offer high-quality coffee, freshly baked pastries (their Pain au Chocolat is one of the best I've ever had), and they also serve cocktails. The owner is one of the most pleasant individuals you'll encounter, always ensuring that his customers are served with a warm smile and even cracking a joke or two. The overall experience will leave you wanting to visit them every day!

Kafograf

Location: Bulevar despota Stefana 81

The owners of this charming coffee place are passionate about both art and coffee. You'll not only enjoy a great cup of coffee but also have the opportunity to appreciate some beautiful artwork on the walls. Situated near the Botanical Garden, this coffee shop is the ideal spot to kickstart your weekend mornings.

Single Origin

Location: Mekenzijeva 47

This new spot in town has quickly become one of my favorite places to grab a coffee after my Pilates class. Unlike the first two on my list, this coffee shop is much more spacious, making it ideal for working on your computer or simply people-watching without feeling pressured to vacate your seat for someone else waiting. They also offer homemade iced tea, and they're soon to begin serving breakfast. I can't wait to try their breakfast because I'm sure it will become my new go-to brunch spot.

Kiosk

Location: Kneginje Ljubice 7

Kiosk is a hole in the wall with tables set up on the street. Each time I visit this place, it reminds me of the coffee shops I frequented in Brooklyn. Perhaps that's why it's my go-to coffee spot in Dorcol. They offer excellent coffee, freshly squeezed juices, and delicious banana bread. In the evening, it transforms into a cozy little bar, making it the perfect spot for summer and fall evenings.

Fuka

Location: Zemunska Pijaca

Located in Zemunska Pijaca, Fuka can be a perfect pit stop after your morning grocery shopping at the market. They serve excellent cappuccinos and pastries, which will help restore your energy for carrying your bags to the car. This place has only a few tables, so there is a possibility that you won't be able to sit and enjoy your coffee, which can be a downside. However, if you're there for a leisurely walk, you can follow my lead and get your coffee to go, then take a stroll to Gardos kula, where you can sit and savor your coffee while enjoying a great view of Belgrade.
